What does a restroom trailer need on site?
A restroom trailer needs a level spot about 10 by 20 feet, a standard 110-volt outlet within about 100 feet, a garden hose spigot or a fresh-water tank, and a path at least 10 feet wide and 13 feet high for the truck. Soft lawns, steep driveways and low tree branches are the usual problems.
- Power: one dedicated 20-amp outlet is ideal; we can bring a quiet generator for a fee.
- Water: a hose spigot keeps the tanks full; without one we fill an on-board tank.
- Waste: held in the trailer’s tank and pumped by us.
- Ground: level within a few inches; we use blocks to finish leveling.
- 2-stall
- About 100–150 guests for an evening event
- 3–4 stall
- About 150–250 guests
- Inside
- Flush toilets, sinks with running water, mirrors, lights, climate control

Is a restroom trailer better than porta potties for a wedding?
A restroom trailer is better for weddings over about 100 guests, evening receptions and formal dress, because guests get flushing toilets, warm running water and lights. Porta potties cost far less and need no power or water. Many couples split the difference with two flushing units and one standard unit.
Compare both in the restroom trailer vs porta potty wedding guide.

Restroom trailer rental questions in Detroit
How far ahead should I book a restroom trailer in Detroit?
Book 2 to 4 weeks ahead for May through October weekends, and earlier for graduation season and the Dream Cruise weekend. Weekday and off-season trailers are often available within a day or two.
Can a restroom trailer go on grass?
Only on firm, level grass with a dry path for the truck. After rain we set the trailer on the driveway or a paved lot to avoid ruts.
Do restroom trailers have heat or air conditioning?
Yes. Our trailers have climate control that runs on the same power hookup, so they work for winter events and hot July receptions.
Can I rent a restroom trailer for an emergency or shelter?
Yes. Shelters, plant shutdowns and broken building plumbing are common reasons. Call and we will check which trailer can roll fastest.
Is there a restroom attendant?
An attendant can be added for events, usually for 4 or more hours. The attendant restocks paper, wipes counters and checks stalls through the night.
