What comes inside a standard porta potty?
A standard porta potty has a toilet seat over a sealed waste tank, a urinal, a double toilet-paper holder, a hand-sanitizer dispenser, a coat hook, a roof vent and a door that locks from inside. Every unit leaves the yard washed, deodorized and stocked with two rolls of paper.

Typical measurements for the standard units in our fleet; a unit’s exact size varies by a couple of inches by model.
Need to fit through a gate? A standard unit needs a gate at least 48 inches wide and a path without steps. Narrower gates mean the unit stays in the driveway.

How often is a standard porta potty cleaned?
A standard porta potty on a monthly rental is serviced once every 7 days: the tech pumps the tank, scrubs the seat, urinal, walls and floor, sanitizes touch points, adds fresh deodorizer and restocks paper and sanitizer. Crews larger than 10 people, or units used on weekends too, usually need twice-weekly service.
- Each service is logged with the date and time on a tag inside the door.
- Extra visits between scheduled services are $45 per unit.
- Event rentals arrive freshly sanitized; a mid-event service can be added for multi-day events.
Is a standard porta potty enough for a party?
A standard porta potty is enough for a backyard party of up to about 50 guests over 4 hours. Two units cover 100 guests. Add a handwashing station when food is served, and choose a flushing unit with a sink if the event is formal or the guests are mostly older adults.
Use the porta potty calculator for longer events or when alcohol is served.
Standard porta potty rental questions in Detroit
Can a standard porta potty go in my backyard?
Yes, if the path from the truck is level, has no steps and any gate is at least 48 inches wide. Units are rolled in on a hand dolly. If the path is tight, the unit goes on the driveway beside the house.
Does a standard porta potty have a sink?
No. A standard unit has hand sanitizer only. Add a separate handwashing station or choose the flushing unit with a built-in foot-pump sink.
Can I lock the porta potty at night?
Yes. Each unit has a hasp that takes a padlock, so job sites can lock it after hours. Leave a key or code with us if the unit is locked on a service day.
Can a standard unit be used in winter?
Yes. From November through March we add a brine mix to the tank so waste does not freeze, and the tech clears ice from the door on each visit. Keep a path shoveled to the unit.
What if someone tips the porta potty over?
Call right away. We set the unit back up, clean the area and replace the unit if needed. Tip-overs caused by vandalism or vehicles are billed to the renter; wind-related setups are staked at no charge when you ask.
